Previously, in my writings, i have highlighted about many shaithanic traits, among them shirk (polytheism) is the greatest sin.
Shaithan will try with his maximum power to deviate man from Thauhid (Oneness of Allah) to do Shirk (Polytheism / make partners to Allah).
What is shirk? Shirk simply means, make partners or associates with ALLAH, in His zath (Being), Sifaath (Attributes) and Afaa’l (Actions).
Allah is the One and Only God who Create, Cherish, Nourish, Destroy and Protect all and everything. The entire universe, kingdom and dominion only belong to Him. He is the God of everyone and everything. Allah has no partners or associates.
Almighty Allah is Omnipotent He is Independent, Eternal and Absolute, He has no partners and has no comparison, He does not share His divine attributes with anybody or anyone because He is the Almighty Omnipotent.
Associating partners with Allah is against the essence of Thauhid in Islam, which is the greatest D’zulm and serious sin.
How does shirk takes place? For example : If someone believes that there are more than One God or many powerful and less powerful gods those have forms or structures or specific deities or statues or living or non living animals or objects or things those are visible or invisible, believing that all these gods have their own power to do harm or bring benefits, all these beliefs are shirk.
If some one belief in such partners/ associates and worship them together with Allah or besides Allah, believing them as god, idolizing them as god, worshipping and prostrating to them as god, seeking help from them as god and believing that they all have their own power to help them or to fulfill their wishes, all these acts are shirk.
For a believer, shirk is one of the greatest syaitanic traits and is a seriously heinous act and crime from which every believer intentionally must abstain, keep away and must avoid every such tiny kinds of beliefs and acts of shirk at all cost.
Allah swt says :
وَإِذْ قَالَ لُقْمَانُ لِابْنِهِ وَهُوَ يَعِظُهُ يَا بُنَيَّ لَا تُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّ الشِّرْكَ لَظُلْمٌ عَظِيمٌ
And [mention, O Muhammad], when Luqman said to his son while he was instructing him, “O my son, do not associate [anything] with Allah. Indeed, association [doing shirk with Allah] is great Zulm, monstrous injustice and highest wrong .” (31:13)
It is frightening! How do the acts of disobedience weaken our imaan in Allah swt. NaoozubilLah……
Our beloved Nabi (saw) reported to have said that :
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا أَخْطَأَ خَطِيئَةً نُكِتَتْ فِي قَلْبِهِ نُكْتَةٌ سَوْدَاءُ فَإِذَا هُوَ نَزَعَ وَاسْتَغْفَرَ وَتَابَ سُقِلَ قَلْبُهُ وَإِنْ عَادَ زِيدَ فِيهَا حَتَّى تَعْلُوَ قَلْبَهُ وَهُوَ الرَّانُ الَّذِي ذَكَرَ اللَّهُ كَلَّا بَلْ رَانَ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ مَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ
Abu Huraira (ra) reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, when the servant commits a sin, a black mark appears upon his heart. If he abandons the sin, seeks forgiveness, and repents, then his heart will be polished. If he returns to the sin, the blackness will be increased until it overcomes his heart. It is the covering that Allah has mentioned: No, rather a covering is over their hearts from what they have earned.” (83:14)
If a person, knowingly,
intentionally and constantly disbelieves, rejects the truth, continuously doing shirk and kufur, do not regret, do not stop, and do not do Thaubat for doing those sins, as a punishment, Allah swt will darken his/her heart – qalb until there is no tiny light of hidayah in the qalb / heart of that person, NaoozubilLah min zalika.
Allah swt says :
خَتَمَ اللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِهِمْ وَعَلَىٰ سَمْعِهِمْ ۖ وَعَلَىٰ أَبْصَارِهِمْ غِشَاوَةٌ ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ
Allah has set a seal on their hearts and on their hearings, (i.e. they are closed from accepting Allah’s Guidance), and on their eyes there is a covering. Theirs will be a great torment. (2:7)
Ya Allah, we beg You to forgive us for all our weakness in our Iman and Thaqwah
Ya Allah we beg You to steadfast our faith and Iman in You with Your Thauhid
Ya Allah we beg You to protect our faith and Iman from all the doubt, kufr, nifaq, and shirk.
Ya Allah, we beg You to cleanse our hearts and Quloob from all the waswas, shakk, doubt and shaky Iman!
Ya Allah bless all of us with Iman kaamil with steadfastness.
