Often we find ourselves feeling overwhelmed by the tests that have been decreed and directed for us. Most of the time, many scholars say that the tests are designed specially for us – as we have been created unique and with different weakneses and strength – because Allah the All-knowing knows that we can withstand the struggles that come with the specially crafted tests. This made me reach to a level of realization that is “YES” – it is “TRUE “. Why do i say so?
Because i know i have gone through them as well as others. Allah swt. says: كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ۗ وَنَبْلُوكُمْ بِالشَّرِّ وَالْخَيْرِ فِتْنَةً ۖ وَإِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ, Every soul shall have a taste of death: and We test you by evil and by good by way of trial to Us must ye return. (21:35). Sometimes through poverty and wealth, sickness and health, we do not know why we have been given such tests…. Only Allah knows all the hikmah behind it! It may be for the purpose of seeing whether we will be patient and give thanks or not to Allah. Certainly Allah knows our capacity as we are His slaves. In sha Allah with His help we could handle those given burdens according to the given time. By Allah’s mercy we could accept whole heartedly those tests time to time …. and pass through them with flying colours. Subhana Allah, Alhamdulilllah.
Allah swt says : وَمَنْ يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُ Whoever puts his trust in Allah; He will be enough for him (65:3). Only Allah knows everything and only Allah can decree and decide things for us. Only Allah knows what is good and bad for us. Allah may decree many things and only He knows why and what they are for. There may have many manifestation of tests in our life. For example, most of us will be tested financially, either with lack of money and starvation or by giving us a lot of money or by bankruptcy. At certain situation, we are being tested tremendously even though we have countless zeros in our bank account! At certain time we will be tested with embezzlement for some reasons or loss of a stable income especially during the height of covid-19 catastrophe. Whatever it may be we will be tested definitely, that is life in dunia!
We feel at times, we are unable to overcome such situation at the beginning but when faced with perserverance and lots of submission and supplications to Allah, Who gave us the test for us to acknowledge that we must always at all times rely and have tawakkal to Allah, only then things becomes of ease for us. Through our surrender to Allah and the strength of our Tawakkal and Dua’, Allah swt will shower His mercy and we would be granted means and ways to overcome such tests, without our expectations and knowledge solutions will be granted. Light seems to emerged from the other end of the tunnel….. Allahu akbar. Allah swt says : وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْخَوْفِ وَالْجُوعِ وَنَقْصٍ مِنَ الْأَمْوَالِ وَالْأَنْفُسِ وَالثَّمَرَاتِ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ الصَّابِرِينَAnd We will surely test you with something of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth and lives and fruits, but give good tidings to the patient.(2:155). After sometime, do we not realize it? The situation seems to correct by itself though at the beginning we were feeling hopeless.
By Allah’s mercy somehow the doors are unlocked and the solutions are granted, the given tests are solved, the designated test for us unscathed. For certain reason we would have lost at one point, then became hopeful again…. all because Allah swt. wanted us to go back to Him unfailingly.
Why do we feel that we are unable to carry the terrible burden?
It is just because we are not asking for the solution from the One who made the test for us, so that He is able to make it easy and to open ways for us to resolve the issues that we are facing. Our Dua’ is our strength and Allah is our shelter! In reality, some problems that have been decreed on us feels very heavy at the beginning but with time and continued perserverance towards Allah, the Designer Who decreed those tests certainly will make them easy for us to handle and overcome them.
Allah swt. says : وَلَا تَهِنُوا وَلَا تَحْزَنُوا وَأَنْتُمُ الْأَعْلَوْنَ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ Do not lose hope, nor be sad. You will surely be victorious if you are true believers (3:139). Thus, Allah’s promise is true that Allah does not burden His servants more than what he can bear, Allahu akbar.
Ya Allah we beg for Your forgiveness for complaining about Your Qadha and Qadar. Ya Allah please do not impose on us burdens that we are unable to carry and bear with Ya Allah we beg You to forgive us and grant solutions for all the tests and please do not give us tests more than what we can bear. Ameen ameen ameen Ya Allah.
